Over the last decade, DRIVENxDESIGN has observed one persistent notion: the thousands of courageous projects that enter our design awards are all striving for the same thing – a better future.
We now know that it is not the project alone that matters, but its role in launching a longitudinal expedition to effect change in our world – or in other words, expeditions to a better future.
For most of us, it is hard to imagine, and consequently to label, how our ideas may have evolved over time. This suggests that it is not the specifics that drive focus and growth, but rather the principles that evolve from a long game mission.
Now in its fourteenth year, Debbie Millman’s podcast ‘Design Matters’ is a perfect example of embracing the long game. Since 2005, Design Matters has explored and communicated how design impacts and facilitates change to affect our world.
